August 25: Local roads to be impacted by Wethersfield 5K & 10K

Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) will produce the Old Wethersfield 5K & 10K on Sunday, August 25.

The Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) will produce the Old Wethersfield 5K & 10K on Sunday, August 25. The 3.1 or 6.2-mile races follow historic, quaint streets of Old Wethersfield with a scenic finish along Wethersfield Cove on an unpaved trail.

Adult participants will receive a travel mug and kids participating in the 5K/10K will receive a lunch bag; all finishers get an awesome finisher’s medal and delicious post-race food.

Streets used for the race will be impacted between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes, if possible. If driving on the route, please use extreme caution as 1200 athletes will be running on the roads.

Police and volunteers will assist athletes and residents at intersections. Volunteers are needed- call 860-652-8866 or email: Nancy@hartfordmarathon.com. Please note the following areas and streets used for the race from 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m:

  • State St., Garden St., Hartford Ave., Main St., Marsh St., Broad St., Hart St., Hanmer Rd., Nott St., Middletown Ave.
