Mail Stolen From Wethersfield Post Office Mailbox
Have you recently dropped mail off in front of the Post Office? You may want to check your banking information.
WETHERSFIELD, CT — Police and Post Office officials are investigating after mail was stolen from the blue mailbox outside of the Post Office on Beaver Road. The agencies are working with other local police departments who are investigating similar incidents.
The theft was reported Thursday morning. The box was last emptied at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone who placed mail in the box between 5 p.m. Wednesday and around 9 a.m. Thursday should contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
"The Wethersfield Police is also strongly suggesting that anyone who used the mailbox during the above listed time frame should check with the intended recipient and notify them of the theft of mail (Reference WPD Case #1900007042/US Postal Inspection Service Case #2779914-MT)," said Lt. Andrew Power, police spokesman.
