Samantha Gale Designs Opens In New Hartford Offering One-Of-A-Kind Vintage Style Furnishings and Decor

In late October of 2016, the distinctive Samantha Gale Designs, LLC and retail store were launched at 377 Main Street in the Pine Meadow hamlet of New Hartford by youthful interior designer Samantha Gale Thomas of Barkhamsted.

This newly-opened ‘Bohemian-style’ interior design and home goods store epitomizes an offering of ‘vintage rustic’ designs.

Visitors to the store are welcomed by the sultry voice of Billie Holiday or indelible ballads of Bob Dylan that intrigue and lure the visitor into the store’s wonder-filled gallery of one-of-a-kind vintage furnishings, pillows, upholstery and décor from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s.

Designer Samantha Thomas has rebuilt, refinished and re-upholstered every item in her store to create a stunning treasure of home décor. Her creations capture in furnishings and home décor the luxuriously rustic comforts from a ‘by-gone era’ with unique designs for relaxed living today.

Nestled in a historic red dairy barn that also houses the Pine Meadow post office on Route 44, Samantha Gale Designs offers interior designs and furnishings plus custom decorating services. The store’s distinctive selections include vintage art and photography, re-upholstered and re-purposed furnishings, beautiful oversized pillows and custom drapery.

“My eye for color stems from my studies in studio art and fine art at McDaniel College, and my instincts are toward designing spaces and comfortable furnishings for today’s lifestyles. Most of my inspirations come from the rustic countryside of northern Connecticut and the incomparable beauty of vintage styles.”

Specializing in rebuilding and redesigning vintage pieces of furniture, art, and fabrics, Samantha Gale Thomas has created one of Connecticut’s true ‘destination design stores’ for relaxed living. She contentedly observes that “Most visitors linger for quite a while and appear reluctant to leave.”
