Weather Service Ranks Recent North Central Connecticut Cold Snap

If Tuesday's temperatures sneak above freezing on Tuesday, it will end a streak of two consecutive weeks of below freezing weather, the National Weather Service said Monday.

So how cold has it been? The 14 consecutive days represent the ninth-longest streak in record.

Here is a look at the top streaks, courtesy of the NWS:

• 19 days, ending Dec. 30, 1989
• 18 days, ending Jan. 16, 1970
• 17 days, ending Feb. 4, 1961
• 17 days, ending Feb. 8, 1905
