Wethersfield Bookstore To Close Due To Pandemic

A bookstore is closing and the owner says it's due to state regulations on alcohol sales.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — That Little Bookstore in Wethersfield has become the latest small business to announce it will be closing due to the pandemic, according to The Courant. Owner Karen Opper said that while store focuses on selling books, regulations prohibiting her from selling alcohol to shoppers and groups using the venue for events have contributed to the downturn in business.

The bookstore at 446 Silas Deane Highway will become one of 3,700 small businesses across the state to close since COVID-19 hit in March, according to the Courant. All books and merchandise will be 50 percent off until the store closes.
