Wethersfield Gets Votes In Initial Wrestling Poll

The Eagles opened the 2017-18 season with three straight victories.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — The initial poll of Connecticut high school wrestling coaches and media members has been released, and Wethersfield High School is looking to work its way into the top 10.

The Eagles (3-0) received some support from voters heading into this week's matches, which will see the team travel to East Hartford Wednesday evening and to the Daniel Hand Duals in Madison Saturday morning.

Danbury (6-0) collected all 16 first-place votes to top the balloting.

Here are the top 10, as well as all other programs receiving votes, with records through Jan. 8.
