Wethersfield Historical Society - Memorial Brick Fundraiser

The project is being planned to begin in the fall of 2018

This year, Wethersfield Historical Society will be undertaking improvements to the parking lot entrance to the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center. The planned improvements include a bricked court adjacent to the entrance sidewalks. The court will be enhanced by the addition of surrounding plantings, benches and lighting.

By common practice and practicality, this rear entrance has come to serve as the main entrance to the building. The Keeney Center serves as the Town Visitors’ Center and Museum and, on behalf of the town, the Society provides volunteers six days a week year-round to staff the reception desk to give residents and visitors an opportunity to gather information about Wethersfield and to visit the free museum exhibits and amenities which the society provides. The Keeney Center is also a popular venue for private events such as weddings and parties, as well as a convenient location for scheduling meetings and community events, all of which are arranged through the historical society.

The bricks which constitute the court will be available for purchase to help underwrite the project and to give people the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy in the heart of our community by dedicating a brick or bricks.
