WETHERSFIELD, CT — The officer-involved shooting in Wethersfield that left an 18-year-old man dead is now being investigated by the Hartford State's Attorney office. Under Connecticut law an officer-involved incident that results in death must be investigated by a state's attorney office other than the judicial district where the shooting took place.
"We extend our condolences to Mr. Vega Cruz’s family. I am in the process of speaking to the State Police to provide me with contact information for Mr. Vega Cruz’s family and an update of what they have learned and what remains to be done at this point to move the investigation forward," said State's Attorney Gail Hardy.
