Wethersfield Receives Support in State Wrestling Poll

The Eagles are off to a good start in 2017-18, establishing themselves as one of the better programs in northern Connecticut.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Wethersfield did not crack the top 10 in the latest high school wrestling poll of coaches and media members, but did receive some support from voters.

The Eagles (6-3) will next compete Saturday in a tournament in New Milford.

Danbury (7-0) collected 16 of 17 first-place votes to maintain the top position.

Here are the top 10, plus all other programs receiving votes, with records through Jan. 15:

  3. Fairfield Warde (5-1)
  4. Southington (6-2)

  7. Killingly (18-0)

  10. Windham (8-1)
