Wethersfield Restaurant Proposes Drive-In Movie Theater
With businesses getting creative, one Wethersfield restaurant may turn its parking lot into a drive-in movie theater.
WETHERSFIELD, CT — With business owners across the state coming up with creative solutions during the pandemic, one local restaurant is seeking to mix things up. The owner of River: A Waterfront Restaurant and Bar is proposing to set up a drive-in movie theater at the establishment's 600-space parking lot, according to the Hartford Business Journal.
The restaurant has been hard hit, with revenues sinking 98 percent despite offering takeout and curbside pickup.
The owner said the drive-in theater idea would allow for a family entertainment space that would still encourage social distancing, the Hartford Business Journal reported.
