Woman Charged With Manslaughter In Windham Overdose Case

A Hartford woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection to a 2017 overdose death in Windham.

WINDHAM, CT— A Hartford woman has been arrested in connection with an overdose death, according to state police. Teresa Deriso, 38, has been arrested for first-degree manslaughter, administration of narcotic by a non-drug dependent person, and possession of narcotics.

She was held on $250,000 bond and arraigned in Danielson Superior Court.

According to police, on Oct. 4, 2017, at 6:25 p.m., Troop K in Colchester received a report of a 49-year-old man in Windham who was unresponsive with a hypodermic needle in his hand. When emergency crews responded, they declared the man dead on the scene from a heroin and cocaine overdose.

Following a two-year investigation, it was determined that Deriso sold the drugs to the victim. She also did drugs with him and injected him with a syringe containing drugs.

She is currently sentenced to York Correctional on unrelated charges.
