Woman Threatened To Kill Officer With Knife: Wethersfield Police
A knife-wielding woman threatened to kill an officer Wednesday morning in Wethersfield, according to police.
WETHERSFIELD, CT — A woman threatened to kill a Wethersfield police officer with a knife Wednesday morning, according to police. The situation was resolved when another officer drove his cruiser toward the woman, who threw the knife at the vehicle, according to Sgt. Joseph Baich. The woman was described by police as “emotionally disturbed.”
The situation happened while Officer McGee was working a private-duty job on Nott Street at the intersection with the Berlin Turnpike. The woman was holding a knife as she walked toward McGee.
“Ofc Luiz was also working this private duty job with Ofc McGee just east of his location,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “The female yelled at Ofc McGee, ‘I'm going to kill you!’ starting to point the knife at the officer. Ofc McGee gave commands to back away from him and he informed Ofc Luiz by radio to make his way down to his location informing him that a female had confronted him with a knife. The female was distracted by Ofc Luiz driving his cruiser toward her and Ofc McGee issued verbal commands to ‘drop the knife!’ The female threw the knife towards Ofc Luiz's cruiser. Ofc McGee and Ofc Luiz were able to restrain the female, Ofc Diloreto arrived on scene and the female was placed in handcuffs and transported to HHER as an emotionally disturbed person.
