6th Annual Wilton Go Green Festival Includes 5K, Dog Parade, Shredding and More!

Browse over 80 fun exhibits and activities related to sustainable building, energy, food, land, water, waste, recycling and health.

WILTON, CT-- The 6th Annual Wilton Go Green Festival is planned at the Wilton Town Green and at the Wilton Library on Sunday, May 1, 2016.

More than 80 exhibits and activities geared towards sustainable building, energy, food, land, water, waste, recycling, health and transportation is being planned for educational purposes and fun!

  • Silent Auction – Town Green
  • Gustave Whitehead Replica Plane: First in Flight! – Wilton Library Parking Lot
  • Tiny House – Wilton Library Parking Lot
  • Bounce House – Wilton Library Parking Lot

Special Events

  • 10:30 a.m.: May Day 5K Run, Sponsored by Outdoor Sports
  • 11 a.m.: Festival Opens! Welcome by Lynne Vanderslice, First Selectman Welcomes Community
  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Shredding. City Carting Shredding Truck at the Post Office parking lot
  • 12 – 1:30 p.m.: Cyril the Sorcerer - See Green Magic! Library Parking Lot and Town Green
  • 12 – 4 p.m.: Wilton Congregational Church Green Music Stage
  • 2 p.m.: Dog Parade - Bring your adorable dog, on a leash of course, for a lively parade, prizes and free treats. Register from 11:00am-2:00pm in the library parking lot.
  • 3 p.m.: Westport Electric Car Club Rally Finish: Watch the rally finish - in the Library Parking Lot.
  • 3:15 p.m.:Electric Car Club Rally Awards Presentation - Leo Cirino

In the the fall of 2009 a committee of the Wilton Energy Commission was charged with presenting the first Wilton Go Green Festival. Wilton Go Green, a 501(c)3, was incorporated in 2010, formed by a group of citizens who wanted to engage the community in sustainable initiatives.
