Criminal Mischief: PD Charges Wilton Man After Truck Tire Damaged
Police charged a Wilton man with criminal mischief after they say he damaged a tire on a pick-up truck.
WILTON, CT — Police charged a Wilton man with criminal mischief after they say he damaged a tire on a pick-up truck.
The Wilton Police Department got the call around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday and made contact with the owner of the 2002 Toyota Tundra at a residence on Wilton Acres. The owner saw the man who damaged the rear driver side tire on the truck, according to police.
Police were able to identify the alleged vandal as Jonathan Damast, 45 also of Wilton Acres. He was released at the scene with a promise to appear and before Stamford Superior Court on June 17.

This was not Damast's first brush with law enforcement in Wilton. On April 27, 2020, he was charged with interfering with an officer outside his home. The night before, Damast told officers he was infected with COVID-19 while he was sitting in the middle of Danbury Road, according to the police report. In November 2019, police charged Damast with breach of peace after they say he rang doorbells and yelled threats at residents over the course of several hours. Police also arrested Damast for a hit-and-run in June 2019, and in January 2017.
