Connecticut has fallen three positions to 7th in the nation in cases per 100,000 population, according to the New York Times coronavirus tracker — and that's a good thing.
Some states like Michigan and Massachusetts are seeing growing cases among youths age 10 to 19, according to Scott Gottlieb, former head of the US Food & Drug Administration, who made his remarks during a Monday news conference with Gov. Ned Lamont.
Gottlieb predicted cases and hospitalizations across the country will likely see a significant decline after a few weeks due to increased vaccination rates and more outdoor activities thanks to warmer weather.
Coronavirus-associated deaths across the state rose by seven overnight. The COVID-19 death toll in Connecticut now stands at 7,930.
