CT Group Home Strike Averted
A strike of 2,100 Connecticut group home workers which was scheduled for Friday morning was averted.
CONNECTICUT – A strike of 2,100 group home workers which was scheduled for Friday morning was averted.
SEIU District 1199 New England delivered withdrawal notices to the group homes that provide services for those with developmental disabilities just before midnight. The notices follow news of a tentative settlement agreement between the union and the owners of the group homes.
Copies of the union's strike withdrawal notices were received by the Connecticut Department of Public Health late Thursday night from group homes owned by Journey Found, Mosaic, Network, Oak Hill, Sunrise, and Whole Life.

Gov. Ned Lamont said the home workers would receive "pay increases and more support" as a result of the new agreement.
