High Winds And Storm Warning In Wilton

The forecast remains for a rainstorm with high winds tonight into tomorrow morning and the chance of power outages and flooding in some areas.

Eversource shared, in preparation for tonight’s storm, they have canceled vacations for operations teams and put the entire CT Eversource team on standby. Out of state resources are arriving today. They are preparing for:
- 10,000 damage locations.
- As many as 380,000 customer outages.
- A multi-day event, with restorations taking 2 to 6 days.
- The storm having a regional impact coinciding with the holiday, impacting the availability of some contract and mutual aid crews.

- Do not approach downed power lines-assume they are live.
- Do not use candles especially near a Christmas tree-they (trees) are very flammable especially this time of year.
- Do not use generators near your home.
- Make sure you have available water to flush toilets etc. (fill a bathtub)
- Remain at home and allow Public Works and the power company to clear the roadways.

- The Emergency Operations center will be monitoring and open as needed.
- Emergency Services including CERT are prepared and will address any issues.
