The Riverbrook Regional YMCA is pleased to announce Rocio Fields as Lead Coach of the Triathlon Club, a new fitness program launching this February. A Wilton resident, Fields has earned the designation of USA Triathlon All American for four consecutive years. She is a former Ironman All World Athlete, a two-time Ironman podium finisher, and has qualified for both the ITU World Triathlon Championships and the Ironman 70.3 World Championships.
"We are so proud to have Rocio at the helm," said Mary Ann Genuario, Sr. Director of Health and Wellness. "Since 2017, Rocio has been a fixture at our Wilton Branch, providing dryland coaching for our Wahoo Swim Team as well as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She has a solid reputation and the experience to take our Wellness initiatives to the next level following her years as a top competitor and excellent coach."
The Tri Club will operate out of the renovated Wilton branch, featuring a new Fitness and Athletic Training Center. Club participants will gain access to weekly training, support services, YMCA discounts, and racing opportunities. All facets of the program are designed for elite athletes and beginners.
The Tri Club joins a growing list of Wilton Family YMCA programming operating in 2021. Following local and state regulations, the Riverbrook Regional YMCA has reopened the entire facility with updated operations focused on cleaning, sanitizing, and social distancing. "After an unprecedented year, we knew we had to rethink how we could best serve our community while keeping everyone safe," said Robert McDowell, CEO. "Our successful reopening happened thanks to our supportive membership, dedicated maintenance department, and front line staff."
An information Zoom meeting about the Tri Club will be held Tuesday, February 2 at 7pm. This meeting is open to the public. To register or for more information, please contact Mary Ann Genuario at 203-762-8384 ext.282 or magenuario@riverbrookymca.org.
