New Canaan Woman Arrested for Stealing $500 of Groceries

She allegedly stole them from Stop & Shop.

A 60-year-old New Canaan woman was charged with fifth-degree larceny after police investigated the theft of $500 worth of groceries from Stop & Shop.

Meaghan Campbell was charged on April 5 at 7 p.m. and released on a promise to appear in court April 17.

An East Meadow Road resident reported two 10-foot copper downspouts, valued at approximately $500, were stolen from their residence sometime during the overnight hours between April 4 and April 5.

On April 7, a Keelers Ridge Road resident reported to police a set of four tires and rims belonging to a BMW were stolen from a vehicle parked under the back deck of the residence.

On April 7, a Winton Terrace resident reported a gold necklace, valued at $300, had been stolen from their home. The case remains under investigation.
