Obituary: Regina "Jeanne" Corrigan, 30-Year Wilton Resident

Jeanne was a longtime volunteer at the Wilton Library, and a member of the Wilton Garden Club.

WILTON, CT — Regina "Jeanne" Corrigan, a thirty-year resident of Wilton, passed away on December 20 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in 1941 to Laura and Luke Owens, Jeanne was the youngest of four daughters raised in Brooklyn and Sayville, NY. She went on to graduate from Seton Hall High School in Patchogue, NY and Caldwell College.

Jeanne married Robert J. Corrigan in 1964, and they had five sons together. The family began their life in Poughkeepsie, NY and later resided in France, Binghamton, NY, and Wilton. They all spent many happy summers together at their house in Harwichport, MA.

Jeanne was a woman of many talents: teacher, author, gourmet cook, and gardener. She was a voracious reader, a loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, and a loyal friend. She was a longtime member of P.E.O. International, and worked to support and empower education opportunities for women. She was a longtime volunteer at the Wilton Library, and a member of the Wilton Garden Club.

She is survived by her five sons, Robert Jr. (Julie), Timothy (Christine), Paul, David and Kevin (Carolina); by her adored 12 grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephews; and by her loving sisters, Barbara Miller of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Peggy Glennon of Bayport, NY. Jeanne was predeceased by her sister, Carol Jacobsen, and by her dear husband Bob in 2013.

Following a private Mass of Resurrection, Jeanne will be buried at Hillside Cemetery in Wilton. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Saint Francis Breadline of New York in Jeanne's name.
