The Wilton Police Department's 2009 Officer of the Year is scheduled to be promoted next month.
Officer Robert Cipolla is scheduled to become the Wilton Police Department's newest sergeant, Chief Michael Lombardo announced earlier this week.
Cipolla, who joined the department in 2005, is scheduled to be promoted to the rank on April 7. Cipolla was the department's Officer of the Year in 2009.Â
According to a press release sent by Captain John Lynch, Cipolla has served as Acting Sergeant and Acting Detective when the need has arisen in the past.Â
