Police Warn of More Vehicle Thefts, Burglaries In Wilton

In all instances, the cars were unlocked, and in some cases, the keys were left inside.

WILTON, CT — Police are reporting the theft of a vehicle on Thursday night, the latest in a series of vehicle thefts and burglaries in Wilton and surrounding towns in recent weeks.

Two more cars were reported stolen in Wilton on July 7.

In all instances, the cars were unlocked, and in some cases, the keys were left inside. On their Facebook page, police have posted residential surveillance camera footage that shows two people walking into an open garage and rummaging through an unlocked car, while another man does the same with the car in the driveway.

Police have reported 15 theft from vehicle incidents this year to date, compared to eight at the same time last year.

There have been five stolen vehicle reports filed this year to date in Wilton, compared to none at the same time last year.
