WILTON, CT — The Coffee Barn, which has been serving up freshly-brewed Joe inside its distinctive restored red barn on Danbury Road since February 2012, will be closing its doors on August 1.
Karen McArdle Piazza, owner of the Coffee Barn business, is pulling up stakes in Wilton to join the rest of her family in Naples, FL. She served her first cup at the barn in February 2012.
Piazza says she does not have any immediate plans beyond enjoying her family and "just winging it" in the Sunshine State.

She won't miss the grind, or the grounds, for that matter, but says there will always be a place in her heart for the Wiltonians she is leaving behind.
"The people are just fantastic! Really, really supportive, nice kind people," Piazza told Patch.

In 2016, Vogue magazine name-dropped The Coffee Barn in its "'Gilmore Girls' Guide to Connecticut" as an example of an eatery that best captured the vibe of the show's popular Luke's Diner.
The Coffee Barn, which also serves an assortment of teas, frozen drinks, soups, sandwiches and salad here as well, will be open weekdays 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and weekends 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., through August 1.
