WILTON, CT — A Redding man turned himself into Wilton police on Friday on a warrant by the Stamford Superior Court on multiple counts of identity theft, forgery and larceny following a police investigation in which police say embezzled more than $200,000 from a local company over a two-year period.

Raymond Sanzone was released after posting $150,000 bond but faces 14 counts of identity theft, 14 counts of forgery and larceny following a lengthy investigation that was launched after the local employed filed a complaint in February, police said.

The complaint indicated that Sanzone worked for the company and that it was believed he was embezzling funds, police said. After obtaining multiple search warrants, police launched an investigation of Sanzone’s bank accounts which determined that between 2018 and 2020, he had embezzled approximately $212 from the company, police said.
