Late Saturday night, a car veered into a utility pole near Wilton Acres, bringing it down.

Â
On Saturday June 23 at 1:15 a.m. a 2012 Volkswagen Sedan driving northbound on Rte. 7 swerved out of the way of an oncoming vehicle and crashed into a utility pole, knocking it over, police said.
According to police, the driver, Steven Tuin, 45, of Old Mill Road in Wilton, said a car travelling in the opposite direction drifted over the line, which caused him to drive off the road, striking both a wire-rope security rail and the utility pole. Tuin said the other vehicle did not stop. The accident occurred just south of Wilton Acres. Police said Tuin was not injured, and was not charged with anything.
