"Songs of Thanksgiving" brings a First Nations Perspective
MOTH's Ellen Dickinson's "...in the world...on the earth" will premiere Sun Nov 3 3PM. Incorporates Wabanaki music to celebrate the season.
As part of Music on the Hill's *Songs of Thanksgiving* concert this Sunday Nov 3, we present an exciting world premiere, "... in the world ... on the earth." Artistic Director Ellen Dickinson has written music and text to create an uplifting and spiritual choral work, inspired by the Wabanaki nation - tribes from the Maine/eastern Canada regions. The piece blends authentic and traditional greetings and dance with Dickinson's own poetry, inviting us to experience thanksgiving from the perspective of First Nations, or Native American, people. MOTH's new Community Children's Chorus (2-8 graders), our Festival Chorus, and piano, shakers and drums bring it alive.
