Storms Mostly Miss Wilton

Schools remain open, the roads by and large clear.

WILTON, CT -- Residents are feeling lucky Wednesday morning with the realization that the killer storms and tornado activity that swept through the region left them mostly unscathed.

Schools stayed open Wednesday, and only three roads -- Grumman Hill Rd by Dirksen Drive, Belden Hill Road by Old Huckleberry Road, and Millstone Road by Spectacle Lane -- were reported impassable at any point during the storms. Of those, only Millstone Road and Grumman Hill Road remain closed. Police are utilizing social media to keep residents updated on road closures.

The storms ravaged parts of Connecticut, resulting in two deaths, several injuries and knocking out power to more than 120,000 residents at one point. As of 8 a.m. there were still more than 90,000 people without power.
