Wilton 9th Grader Wins Woman's Club Short Story Contest
Many of the activities the town planned to mark the centennial of the 19th Amendment, but this story contest survived.
WILTON, CT — A 9th grader at Wilton High School won the Short Story Contest for Girls, sponsored by the Wilton Women's Club.
Many of the six months of activities the town planned to mark the centennial of the passage of the 19th Amendment guaranteeing and protecting the women's right to vote fell by the coronavirus wayside. But the story contest endured, and Gayathri Kaimal's was judged the winner.
Girls who are Wilton residents in grades 9-12 were encouraged to submit a fictional short story related to American women gaining the right to vote.
