Wilton Man, 22, Charged with Sexually Assaulting Underage Female

A 22-year-old Wilton man has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor after allegedly sexually assaulting an underage female multiple times in 2010 and 2012.

According to police, John Prizio, of Kings Lane was arrested on March 22. Police said a 16-year-old girl reported the sexual assaults first in October 2012.

“At that point, the victim was unsure as to whether to fully pursue the complaint,” Lt. Don Wakeman said Tuesday. The victim then followed up in January 2013.

When the assaults first happened, the girl was 14 and Prizio was 20, police said.

“The victim couldn’t be specific as to how many times,” Wakeman said. “They knew each other and were with each other a lot.” 

Wakeman said sexual assault in the second degree is defined as having “contact with the intimate areas of another person.”

Prizio could be facing jail time, Wakeman said, as both charges are felonies.
