Wilton Man Accused Of Hit-And-Run Crash In New Canaan: Police

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 23-year-old Wilton man was arrested by New Canaan police Wednesday after he crashed his vehicle into a parked car in New Canaan and drove away, authorities said.

John Patrick Walsh, of Wild Duck Road, was charged with reckless driving and evading responsibility in connection with the 4:40 p.m. crash on Hoyt Street near East Avenue in New Canaan.

After the crash, 0ne of the license plates to the vehicle Walsh was driving was found at the scene, and officers used it to track him down, police said.

He was taken into custody at his home, where officers also found the damaged vehicle he was driving, police said.

Walsh was released after posting a $500 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on May 6.
