Wilton Police Welcome 2 New Officers

Both men come to the WPD after retiring from the New York Police Department.

WILTON, CT — The Wilton Police Department welcomes two new officers on Monday.

Kevin Maloney and Matthew Collins were sworn in Monday. Both men have recently retired from the New York Police Department, and will be attending a three-week training academy as well as a three-month field training program before being certified as Connecticut Police Officers.

Maloney grew up in Yorktown Heights, NY and is a graduate of Mercy College, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He served with the NYPD for 27 years before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant, and received several meritorious service awards and commendations, according to a new release. He is married and has two children, 15 and 12.

Collins grew up in Lindenhurst, NY and is a graduate of Farmingdale State College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement Technologies. He served with the NYPD since 2017, and was married this past year to his wife Alessandra. Both have just recently moved to Connecticut.
