How did you come up with name?
Babaloo in ancient folklore, was an African deity that Cubans prayed to to avoid droughts. It also symbolizes “new beginnings”. In recent history, Babaloo has become known as Ricky Ricardo’s (desi arnaz) famous song and club in Cuba.
What business are you In?
Babaloo represents the only place in the entire area for miles that serves Latin American soul food from beautiful places like the Dominican republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Peru, Argentina and more all in a beautiful, cozy and festive Latin inspired ambiance with a full bar and excellent service.
Why start a business in this town?
Joining the ranks of the finest Latin American Cuisine in Fairfield County, Babaloo is one of four restaurants that make up the Jazzeria Restaurant Group that have been serving the Ridgefield/Wilton area for 22 years.
What has been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?
Head Chef Roberto Morales alongside the onsite manager Chris Caldarariu; are using authentic spices, knowledge and recipes to create some of the best Latin American Soul food in CT. From Mexican Street Corn and Sweet Plantains to Ropa Viejo the food is downright delicious and is definitely a treat for the taste buds. The restaurant boasts an intimate dining space with a full menu for lunch and dinner as well as daily specials. In the bar they feature Happy Hour from 4-6pm Tuesday through Friday, which includes a special tapas menu, and drink specials. Their stellar handmade cocktails pair perfectly with their top notch menu creations.
