Winter Team State Championship History: Wilton High School

WILTON, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway in Connecticut Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.

To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the 28 CIAC winter team titles won by Wilton High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).

• boys swimming (10) - Class M: 2003, 1998, 1997, 1994, 1989; State Open: 1997; Class S: 1995; Class L: 1988, 1987, 1986
• girls gymnastics (8) - Class M: 2018, 2009, 1988, 1987, 1983; Class S: 1996, 1995, 1994
• girls indoor track (7) - Class S: 1996, 1994; Class M: 1995, 1993, 1992; State Open: 1991, 1990
• boys indoor track (2) - Class S: 1962, 1961
• girls basketball (1) - Class LL: 2015
