WINDSOR, CT — Amazon is contributing $25,000 to help find those responsible for leaving at least one noose and several ropes at a construction site in Windsor, NBC CT reported. Added to the money provided by the project's contractors and developer, the total reward is now worth $50,000.

Amazon said in a statement that it "remains deep disturbed by the incident that occurred in Windsor a couple of weeks ago," and that "Hate, racism and discrimination have no place in our society," NBC CT reported.

The CT NAACP and town leaders are calling for a thorough investigation of the incident.

Police were dispatched to the 1201 Kennedy Road site last month on a report of suspicious activity and found a noose hanging from a steel beam on the building's second floor.

Police responded to the site two more times on reports of ropes being found, some of which could have been interpreted as nooses.
