Connecticut Daughters Stay Busy During COVID-19 Pandemic

CTDAR Members Stay Busy Sewing Masks

The Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution (CTDAR) may not be able to meet as usual during the COVID-19 pandemic but they are still “Charting the Course,” which is State Regent Christy Anderson Hendrie’s theme by skillfully sewing masks for those in need.

Since mid-March, members of the Connecticut DAR have sewn over 2,800 masks for those that need them. These masks have been distributed to individuals, healthcare providers, schools, members of the U.S. military, first responders, Indigenous Peoples in Connecticut and across the nation.

Members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution have created over 284,000 cloth masks and 12,600 of other types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This feat has been accomplished by DAR members volunteering their time and materials. This project is overseen by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and state societies from across the world. If you or your organization needs masks please visit https://www.fssdar.com/sta/maskrequest/ to place a request.
