Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution Release Video on Wadsworth Stable
Lebanon, CT — The Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution (CTDAR) and Christy Anderson Hendrie, State Regent, are delighted to release a short video that guides visitors on a virtual tour of historic Wadsworth Stable.
The Wadsworth Stable is located on the mile-long town green next to the Governor Jonathan Trumbull House in Lebanon, CT. The original stable was built in Hartford, CT in the 1730’s. In the early 1800s this stable was dismantled and replaced by the current Palladian style stable. The video tells the story of the stable's historical importance while offering beautiful aerial footage of Eastern CT. A grant from The Last Green Valley and donations from private donors helped to support the project.
The Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution was organized in 1892 and is part of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. CTDAR has over 2,400 members in 40 Connecticut chapters. Any woman 18 years or older regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from a patriot is eligible for membership in the National Society. Their mission focuses on promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
