Genevieve Lattimer Named Executive Director Of First Town Downtown

First Town Downtown Inc is pleased to announce Genevieve Lattimer as its new Executive Director.

Genevieve Lattimer comes from the Hartford Marathon Foundation where she managed teams of volunteers and coordinated large events. Most recently she handled all aspects of office management including technology upgrades and coordinating the Eversource Hartford Marathon Official Charity Program, a 25-charity group event.

“As a life-long resident, I am thrilled to bring my skills and experience to First Town Downtown, an organization that has been praised for its positive influence on our community. I look forward to building upon the mission of promoting Windsor Center as a vibrant recreational, economic and cultural destination,” said Genevieve Lattimer, new Executive Director of First Town Downtown.

Outgoing Executive Director, Jane Garibay says, "I'm leaving First Town in good hands with Genevieve. She is highly organized, a fantastic planner, works well with others, is a team builder and she plans to uphold the high standards of the organization. Did I mention she loves Windsor and understands the importance of a vibrant downtown?"

Garibay, who is the Connecticut State Representative for Windsor and Windsor Locks plans to continue work with Representative Q Phipps, her Main Street Working Group co-chair, at the Capitol to support Main Streets and Transit Oriented Development throughout the state. "I look forward to working with Genevieve!”

Sharran Selig Bennett, President of the First Town Board commented, "We are very sorry to see Jane go; she has had such positive impact on First Town Downtown. But we also wholeheartedly welcome Genevieve to our team. She will bring a unique perspective to First Town based on her long experience managing people and projects, especially with non-profit organizations. Her proven leadership and experience will bring valuable insight to First Town's goals and programs."
