Largest Fast-Pitch Softball Field In Region Coming To Windsor
The facility is expected to attract 35,000 visitors per year.

WINDSOR, CT - Construction has begun on what will be the largest dedicated fastpitch softball complex in the Northeast United States, Fastpitch Nation Park in Windsor. The 11-field complex is scheduled to open on Day Hill Road in the spring, according to a statement.
The field is expected to bring in 35,000 visitors. Windsor was selected for its central location and proximity to Bradley International Airport.
The 21-acre Fastpitch Nation Park will feature 11 regulation fully-fenced fastpitch fields along with a 3,200-square-foot building and is the creation of David Rocha, owner of Fastpitch Nation in Bloomfield.

The field will primarily host youth girls' softball games as well as baseball for boys 12 and under.

“Youth girls’ fastpitch softball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and has far outgrown the number of Connecticut fields available for tournaments,” Rocha said. “For example, almost a third more teams from nine states played in our 2018 USSSA Northeast National Girls’ Fastpitch Softball Championship in July. This new complex will allow us to host more teams, play more games and all in one fantastic location, unlike anything else in the region. Otherwise, teams would need to travel to the South, Midwest or Far West for any similar venue.”
During the next year, 1350 teams are expected to compete in more than 3200 games.
“USSSA is very excited about the new facility in the Connecticut,” said Jeremy McDowell, Executive Vice President of the United States Specialty Sports Association. “This facility will play host to many regional and national events and has the full support of USSSA. We look forward to partnering with David Rocha and others to positively impact the youth of today.”
