Man Enters Plea In Windsor Human Trafficking Case

A man charged last year in a human trafficking and prostitution case entered a plea Monday.

WINDSOR, CT - A man charged in a human trafficking case last year entered a guilty plea Monday, according to the Hartford Courant. Jerome Edison, 49, of Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to a single count of human trafficking.

He will be sentenced to 10 years in prison suspended after 4 1/2 years followed by 5 years of supervised release.

Edison was charged in June 2018 along with Erica "Butter" Spencer, 28, of Las Vegas, with promoting prostitution and conspiracy charges.

According to reports, Edison and Spencer picked up a Nebraska woman from the Philadelphia airport and drove her to Connecticut to work as a prostitute in a local hotel. When the woman wanted to leave, Edison threatened her with violence.

Edison has been free on $250,000 bond since his arrest, according to The Courant.
