Mary's Place Red Carpet Gala A Great Success

The 15th Annual Gala to benefit Mary's Place took place at The North House with nearly 200 in attendance.

On September 13, The 15th Annual Gala to benefit Mary’s Place took place at The North House in Avon, CT. Master of Ceremonies was Denise D’Ascenzo of WFSB. Nearly 200 guests enjoyed an elegant evening of dinner, dancing, music, silent auction, and spirit pull. Each year at the Gala, a Ray of Hope award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the organization. This year, there were two recipients of the award; past participant and Board Member Barbara Capuano as well as Board Member and Gala Chair Nancy Griffin.

At Mary’s Place, A Center for Grieving Children and Families in Windsor, grieving children find a safe haven to grieve with others who are experiencing the same sort of loss. Mary’s Place is a place of hope. It is a place where children and families find comfort and support, share their experiences, and realize that they are not alone.

Mary’s Place does not charge a fee for its services nor does it receive any state or federal funding. Therefore, the center relies on donations and fundraising to continue to provide its services to the bereaved throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts. We need the support of the community now more than ever as the number of children and families we support continues to grow.
