Obituary: Charles King, 50, Of Windsor

WINDSOR, CT - Charles Hamilton “Chuck” King, 50 of Windsor, CT passed away on October 8, 2018 from heart transplant complications.

Chuck was born June 7, 1968 in Stamford, CT, the son of Edward M. and Nancy (Baird Winsor) King. Chuck grew up in Old Greenwich, CT and attended local schools. He then attended Cardigan Mountain and New Hampton schools, both in New Hampshire, before graduating from Old Greenwich High School in 1987. He later earned a bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN in 1999.

On August 6, 1994, he married Jane S. Voigts at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden in Minnesota. Together they had one son, Samuel King, who was the apple of Chuck’s eye. Chuck King was a born salesman, working for the past several years in outside sales for NCH Corporation of Irving, TX and becoming NCH’s rookie of the year in 2014. But most important of all, he was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Surviving are his wife, Jane, and son, Samuel of Windsor, CT; his mother, Nancy Heintz of Cos Cob, and his stepmother, Betty King of Bradenton, FL; his brother, James (Dee) King of Yelm, WA and sister-in-law, Carol King of Stamford; as well as his nieces and nephews, Edward and Melissa King of Stamford, and James Jr. (Bethany) and Elizabeth King of Washington State; and his Aunt Lee (Dean Shahan) Winsor of Groveland, Florida. Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Edward M. King II; his brother, Edward M. King III; and his stepfather, Vincent Heintz.

The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Christ Proclamation Church, 100 Pigeon Hill Road, Windsor, CT with Pastor Steve Thiel officiating. Family and friends may gather from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to either Christ Proclamation Church or The Salvation Army, where Chuck once worked.
