Special Election Set for House Seat Representing Part of Windsor

A vacancy exists due to the election of David Baram as a probate court judge.

HARTFORD, CT — Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has scheduled a special election to fill a vacancy in the 15th Assembly District of the Connecticut House of Representatives, which consists of the entirety of Bloomfield and portions of Windsor. The election will be held on Jan. 9, 2018.

The seat recently became vacant following the resignation of David Baram, who earlier this month was elected as 3rd District Probate Court judge.

Under state law, the governor is required to issue a Writ of Special Election within ten days of a legislative vacancy and a special election must be held exactly 46 days after the writ is issued. Governor Malloy filed the writs Friday.
