Special Olympics Athletes to Compete in the Northern Time Trials

Event Will Take Place in Windsor This Sunday, May 5th

The 2019 Special Olympics Connecticut Northern Time Trials, presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Hoffman Audi, will take place on Sunday, May 5th at The Loomis Chaffee School, 4 Batchelder Road in Windsor, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and all are invited to come out and cheer on the athletes. This annual event gives athletes of all abilities from the region opportunities to compete in Track & Field and Swimming, after months of training and preparation. Over 900 athletes and Unified Sports® teammates are expected to participate. An additional 250 coaches and 400 volunteers will support the event. Because of the weather that's predicted, field events for this Sunday's event have been canceled. However, track and swimming events are expected to go on as scheduled.

The Northern Time Trials is a qualifying event for the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games state competition, coming up the weekend of June 7th through 9th at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, the Yale Dewitt Cuyler Athletic Complex and Hamden Hall Country Day School Skiff Street Athletic Complex, both of Hamden, and Yale University West Campus in Orange.
