Taste of Manchester 2019!

Manchester's food crawl is back!

The Taste of Manchester is a restaurant-hopping, pub-crawl style evening which showcases the
flavors of Manchester restaurants, breweries and retailers. Following a year off, the event
returns on June 11, 2019 thanks to the revitalized efforts of a small group of dedicated
volunteers. Since businesses, volunteers and prior event goers all expressed great interest in
re-establishing the event, the Manchester Dog Owner’s Group (MDOG) has been working since
January to make it happen.
Newly-elected MDOG president Jennifer Bergin said,” The only reason this event is happening is
because of our amazing committee, volunteers and even past MDOG members who have freely
offered their time, advice and support. It’s been great to see so many stepping up to recruit
vendors. The response from local businesses has been wonderful.”
The “Taste” ticket holders can take a stroll or ride the free complimentary buses along Main
Street and Hartford Road, stopping to sample the offerings of the participating venues. More
information, tickets and directions are available at: tasteofmanchesterct.com
This year’s participants include longtime supporters like the Hartford Road Café and Cosmic
Omelet., along with newcomers like The Last Slice and Trattoria Toscana. All participating
vendors are Manchester-based businesses, eager to support a vibrant community of foodies
First time participant, Labyrinth Brewing Company, said they are looking forward to the event.
Co-owner Adam DeLaura said “We’re really excited for the Taste of Manchester because there
are so many great things happening in our hometown and we can’t wait to show them off”
Sandy Campos, who has been a volunteer for “The Taste” for several years said “I can honestly
say this event brings people together! The talk on the bus is always positive. The participants
definitely have a very enjoyable time; it’s a great way to highlight the fantastic restaurants and
pubs Manchester has to offer”
Proceeds from the Taste of Manchester benefit MDOG which operates and maintains
Manchester’s only dog park, located at Mt. Nebo Park. The group also promotes community
events such as “Barktoberfest” in the fall, holds educational seminars and sponsors recreational
hikes throughout the year.
Bergin said volunteers are still needed for the evening of the event. Anyone interested is
encouraged to sign up through the tasteofmanchesterct.com website or contact MDOG by
email at tasteofmanchesterct@gmail.com
