Windsor FedEx Facility To Shut Down
A local FedEx facility will close, though its impact on jobs is unclear.
WINDSOR, CT — The Windsor Fed Ex Ground facility is scheduled to close April 18, according to a state Department of Labor document. The 133 full- and part-time employees at site "may be impacted by this transition."
However, the statement notes that there are no planned job losses as a result of the transition. Employees are being notified of job assignments and will have the opportunity to transfer to other FedEx Ground locations.
The decision to shut down the facility at 759 Rainbow Road is a result of the company evaluating "its network to ensure it is in the best possible position to meet industry and customer needs."
