Windsor Girls Capture Class L Track Championship

MIDDLETOWN, CT — For the second time in three years, Windsor High School emerged as the girls team champions at the Class L track and field championships Tuesday at Middletown High School.

The Warrior girls were first in five events and had nine additional placewinners to compile 92 points, easily outdistancing runnerup Hall, which had 68.

An individual champion and five additional placewinners lifted the Windsor boys to a 10th-place showing.

In the Class M boys competition Wednesday at Willow Brook Park in New Britain, Jonathan Ortiz of the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering took second place in the high jump.
