Windsor High School Lands On Best High Schools List

Windsor High School has made U.S. News & World Report's annual list.

WINDSOR, CT — Windsor High School has been recognized on the list for 2020 Best High Schools, based on rankings by U.S. News & World Report published last month, according to a statement from the district.

Superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke said in a statement, “I'm excited to share that Windsor High School has been recognized as one of the Best High Schools by U.S. News and World Report. As you may be aware, Connecticut’s educational landscape is very competitive and I'm very proud of WHS for achieving this ranking. It speaks to our comprehensive high school which provides challenges and supports for all students.”

Windsor ranked 101st in Connecticut on the list.

The rankings are based on a variety of factors including Advanced Placement® (AP) coursework, exams and a participation rate of 55% as well as state assessment data and graduation rates.

Windsor High School Principal Uyi Osunde commented in an email to his staff, “To be a top 50% school in the state of Connecticut, which has more than 200 high schools, and a top 40% nationally is a great accomplishment. It has not been easy, but your trust and commitment paired with hard work has resulted in success that others are beginning to recognize. We do have something special here at 50 Sage Park Road.”
