Windsor Hotel Extends Furlough For Employees
Furloughs for 77 employees at the hotel will continue, according to documents filed with the state.

WINDSOR, CT — The Windsor Marriott Airport location said it will extend temporary layoffs of 77 workers, according to a filing with the state. The temporary furloughs were originally announced March 16, 2020.
The hotel at 28 Day Hill Road had a total of 114 employees before the pandemic. Officials noted in the document that it is difficult to know when occupancy restrictions will be lifted "to a level where we can reinstate employment of furloughed employees."
"These employees have been advised of the extensions of their furlough," reads the document filed March 18. "These employees have also been advised that the extension is necessary due to the business interruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic including compliance with federal and state regulations to slow the spread of COVID-19 and the delays in rolling out the vaccine that were not foreseeable at the time of the initial furlough."
