WINDSOR, CT — The town of Windsor will receive a Community Connectivity Grant. The $500,000 grant, which was issued through the “Community Connectivity Grant Program” (CCGP), will be used to make renovations to the Windsor Meadows State Park Shared Use Path. The CCGP has awarded grants for outdoor construction projects around the state.
"This grant comes at the perfect time. Because of the pandemic, outdoor activities such as walking and hiking have become incredibly popular, " said state Representative Jane Garibay (D- Windsor, Windsor Locks). "These funds can be used to make the state park an even more accessible place for residents who are looking for a safe activity."

According to the proposed plan, the funds will be used to build a 12’ wide paved shared-use path with basic landscaping and amenities approximately 825’ across Windsor Meadows State Park and a bridge or box culvert across Decker’s Brook, (depending on stream flow requirements) completing the connection between the Windsor and Hartford Riverwalk Systems.
The “Community Connectivity Grant Program”, or CCGP, is an infrastructure improvement program that seeks to provide construction funding for local initiatives that will make towns and cities more accessible for bicyclists and pedestrians.
