Windsor Road Work Leads To Traffic

Local road work has been slowed down by weather conditions.

WINDSOR, CT - Road work on Day Hill Road is causing "some rough riding and frustration with drivers," according to a Facebook post from police.

"This is a significant reconstruction project to improve the major arterial roadway in our town," the post reads. "The work involves excavation for drainage pipeline and replacement of the entire roadway pavements and base courses. The work is occurring during the overnight and the Contractor is doing his best to make the roadway passable during the day. Unfortunately, the many days of continuous rain, including the major all-night rain event last night, have impacted the riding surface. The Contractor returns during the day to repair areas that are in need. We expect the paving to occur on the westbound lanes within the next few days. Again, there is no way to perform a complete roadway reconstruction without impacting traffic in some way. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience that will result in long-term improvement to the roadway.

Thank you for your patience."
